- Brief history of Shri Brahmendral Shri Sadashiva Brahmendra also known as Shri Sadashivendra Sarasvati was born to Somasundara Avadhani and Parvati Devi, a Telugu Brahmana couple whose ancestors had migrated from Andhra Pradesh to Madurai and then to Tiruvisainallur near Kumbakonam. His year of birth is said to be as far back as the 16th century. He was a great Sannyasi, Yogi and Jnani. He was a Shishya of Shri Paramashivendra Saraswati the 57th Acharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham who He has eulogised in many of His compositions. Many devotees consider Him to be an avatara of great Avadhuta-s like Shuka Brahma Rishi and Dattatreya. He roamed in a trance of Eternal Bliss until finally resting His body in Nerur near Karur in the early 18th century.
